Rest

Quick update. Yesterday I went through a quick practice (2 hours is considered quick) of chipping, pitching, putting, and finally the range.

Overall a good practice, but by the time I got to the range I was having a hard time with my swing’s timing. I’ve learned that my timing is off when my shot control starts to get random, meaning one shot will hook bad to the left, the next will be straight but not solid contact, and the next will be a slight fade followed by another with another hook.

Since I had so much trouble controlling my swing I’m attributing the range difficulties to being tired. I didn’t realize it until then, but I’ve either played a round or practiced for several hours every day for the last 8 days. It had to catch up with me at some point.

So I took today off to get some rest. Tomorrow I’ll have a short practice that focuses primarily on putting and the short game. I’ll also hit a small bucket at the range, primarily to get some more repetitions with the grip, swing plane, and tempo, but otherwise I want to keep it light.

Saturday morning is another tee time at Turnbull Bay. I’m looking forward to it and confident I can have a good round with a solid score.
